University of Akron - Infocision Stadium Turf Replacement

LOCATION: Akron, OH

Behnke Landscape Architecture worked closely with the University of Akron to select a replacement turf at Infocision Stadium. Behnke worked within a very tight budget to deliver a competitive bid specification for the University.

This new Astroturf field has is a heavy weight blended turf fiber with a minimum of 6 lbs. of infill over a regraded stone base to allow for heavy use of this field. Drainage was tested prior to the new turf installation. Much of the turf nailer was replaced, as anticipated by Behnke.

Following construction, the field was tested for GMax and infill heights. Per the product specifications, the field will continue to be tested once each year for the entire 8-year warranty period.
