Columbus City Schools - Playground Improvements

Behnke Landscape Architecture worked closely with school representatives to design and implement outdoor improvements at twelve different school sites within the Columbus City School District. The work included new playgrounds at five elementary schools and seven early childhood centers.
Additional improvements included storage buildings, drainage upgrades, landscape, basketball, tetherball, and funnel ball, fencing, site furnishings, landscaping, asphalt play surfaces, and painted games. Site accessibility and student drop-off/pick-up was improved through new pavement markings that better guide vehicle circulation.
Once construction began, Behnke conducted weekly site visits to help ensure quality implementation.
