Copley-Fairlawn Middle School - Track & Synthetic Turf Replacement

LOCATION: Copley, OH

CLIENT: Copley-Fairlawn City Schools

Behnke Landscape Architecture partnered with Vasco Sports Contractors on this Design-Build project to convert the existing football/soccer field to synthetic turf, upgrade the existing stone track to asphalt, and install 600-seat bleachers.

The site’s challenges required creative solutions, including working around an existing storm system with a 48-inch detention pipe beneath the field and addressing a significant grade change between the field and the preserved bleacher area.

To improve accessibility, a retaining wall was introduced between the field and bleachers.

Additional enhancements included a new entry sign with brick pillars, upgraded fencing, and the installation of field event facilities for shot put, discus, and long jump.
