Fairview Park City Hall Green Infrastructure Retrofit

LOCATION: Fairview Park, OH

Behnke, as part of the design-build team, developed the most cost-efficient pervious pavement and bioretention solution for the Fairview Park City Hall parking lot green infrastructure retrofit.

With the savings realized from Behnke’s design, the team upgraded and enhanced the main pedestrian entry into city hall with a portico (drained with a translucent downspout to raise visitors’ awareness of rainwater runoff,) and small seating area. Also incorporated are contrasting paving treatments that create a crosswalk to ensure pedestrian safety.

The majority of this project was funded with an OEPA Section 319 grant. Educational signage was installed to explain to visitors about how the project improves the quality of the city’s local waterways.
