Massillon East Elementary

LOCATION: Massillon, OH

CLIENT: Massillon City Schools

Behnke Landscape Architecture collaborated with Architectural Vision Group (AVG) to develop a site plan for the new Massillon East Elementary, a new LEED-Silver goal school facility.

Since the new school is located immediately west of Paul Brown Tiger Stadium and Washington High School, the site design for this 14-acre site aimed to serve the overall campus in addition to the elementary school.

Parking facilities needed to serve both the school and stadium and the site design needed to accommodate a full-size marching band practice field. Playgrounds aimed at providing challenges for students with a variety of motor abilities and skill-sets were also included.

Lastly, the design accommodated a significant forty-foot grade change across the site and maintained accessibility to all facilities and amenities.
