Mifflin High School - Track Renovation
LOCATION: Columbus, OH
CLIENT: Columbus City Schools
The Mifflin stadium renovation included the renovation of the existing track and renovating the faces of both the home and visitor bleacher. After reviewing the track, we chose to renovate the existing track base, rather than a full asphalt replacement.
Behnke prepared construction documentation to remove the existing all-weather surfacing, mill the existing asphalt, repair cracks and two area of full depth replacement. The take-off boards and pole vault box were all replaced. The new allweather surfacing is a polyurethane sandwich system by Beynon.
The surface is an upgrade from the previous latex track. The Dant Clayton addition at both the home and visitor bleachers allow front forward accessible seating, with an elevated front aisle. This replaces several individual stairs entry areas.
Following bidding, Behnke performed construction administration throughout construction with regular project meetings.
