Raptor Center Amphitheater
LOCATION: Oberlin, OH
CLIENT: Lorain County Metro Parks
The Lorain County Metro Parks commissioned Behnke Landscape Architecture to develop the Raptor Amphitheater at The Carlisle Visitor Center as an outdoor educational venue for the public. For over 20 years, the visitor center has been rehabilitating birds of prey and educating the public about these amazing birds.
Three schematic designs were developed and reviewed with the stakeholder team. Once the final design was approved, we quickly developed construction documents. The project was bid and built, and opened on May 2, 2021. We were able to achieve a spring opening for the public to enjoy the birds during the summer months.
