RON MOTTL FIELD

CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WEST CAMPUS - PARMA, OH

Ron Mottl Field at the Cuyahoga Community College, West Campus, began with a master plan to address specific issues regarding the overall quality and quantity of play the field could support. After reviewing the poor field conditions, Behnke also raised a need as well as solutions addressing the under utilized dugouts, overly wide foul ball areas, and poor bullpen configuration. Working with the school, several phases were proposed, beginning with a new Shaw Sports synthetic turf infield to expand the playing season for the field. Work continued on the outfield grass and fencing, adding subdrainage, regrading the lawn and reseeding. With Behnke’s master plan, the college addressed the dugouts and the bullpens. Since construction, this field regularly hosts college and high school tournament games, as well as college and high school level summer league games.

Construction Cost:  $1 Million
