West Side Market Parking Improvements
LOCATION: Cleveland, OH
CLIENT: City of Cleveland
The West Side Market, as a culinary and cultural focal point for the City of Cleveland, improved their existing pedestrian and vehicular circulation. With the help of two green infrastructure grants from the US EPA and the North-East Ohio Regional Sewer District, this City of Cleveland project also incorporated green infrastructure.
Key components of this project include:
• Keeping pedestrian and vehicular safety as the highest priority.
• Adding over 100 additional parking spaces.
• Adding parking controls and simplifying vehicular access to the project site.
• Adding pedestrian corridors and gathering areas throughout the site.
• Maximizing green infrastructure through the use of both pervious pavers and bioswales.
• The green infrastructure measures incorporated into this 6 acre site will annually reduce the total volume of stormwater discharging the site by 2.6 million gallons.
